What it does

Two autonomous agents for Sales. The Sales Qualification Agent (also called Sales Development / SDR agent) works leads — researching, prioritising and drafting outreach so reps focus on live conversations. The Sales Research agent pulls together account and opportunity research on demand.

Key facts

  • These are autonomous agents, not the in-app Copilot. They run work on their own schedule against your data, not just when a rep types a prompt.
  • They're metered. Expect consumption against Copilot Studio message capacity or a per-agent commitment, on top of the Sales licence.
  • The Qualification agent surfaces its research and drafts to the seller for review — a human still decides whether to act.
  • Availability has moved through preview into wider release; check current GA and regional state before committing.

When to use / skip

Good fit where inbound lead volume outstrips the team's capacity to research and prioritise. Skip it if lead data is sparse or your qualification process isn't defined — an agent can't automate a process you haven't written down.

Configuration decisions

  • Which lead sources and segments the agent works.
  • Handoff rules: when the agent escalates to a human seller.
  • Consumption budget and which environment carries the cost.

Gotchas

  • "Autonomous" spooks stakeholders. Be clear the seller reviews outputs; the agent isn't cold-emailing prospects unsupervised unless you configure it to.
  • Consumption can climb quietly. Set capacity alerts before go-live, not after the first invoice.

Consultant notes

  • Price the metering explicitly in your proposal — this is a real running cost, unlike the bundled in-app Copilot.
  • Data readiness on leads is the gating factor; audit source quality in discovery.
  • Define the qualification criteria with the sales manager first. The agent encodes your process, warts and all.
